The project involved the installation of LED light fittings and hanging glass pendants in various areas. The assessment will focus on the following key aspects:-
The Visual Appeal:
Interior plan received from the Interior designer. Evaluate the best hanging glass pendants to enhance the store’s atmosphere and aesthetic appeal. Assess how these lighting elements contribute to creating a welcoming and appealing environment for customers.
The Lighting Design:
Evaluate the quality of light generated by the LED fittings and pendants in terms of lux levels, colour rendering, and consistency. Assess whether the lighting adequately highlights the liquor products, improves visibility, and creates an inviting ambiance. Improves the overall shopping experience.
Energy Efficiency:
The use of LED fittings and lamps and calculating the total power consumption of the LED light fittings. Another factor is modernizing LED lighting through product development. One such outcome is delivering LED light fittings with higher output in Lumens per Watt, thus lowering the wattage and overall consumption.
Lighting Performance:

Result Achieved:
The lighting delivered exceptional lighting performance. The enhanced brightness and colour rendering have effectively illuminated the liquor products, showcasing them in a visually appealing manner. The lighting consistency across different areas of the store has created a cohesive and pleasing ambiance all around.

The hospital required a full turnkey lighting solution, which Aurora could provide, and specifically requested a simple yet sleek and clean final look.
Flicker Free Lighting for Operating Theatres:
A strict project requirement was the installation of a 100% flicker free solution for the operating theatres, which was vital as the hospital mainly caters for advanced eye surgery cases. It was also necessary that all fittings should adhere to South African National Standards (SANS).
Aurora completely redesigned the lighting layout in order to ensure we met not only the client’s requirements and expectations but also those of the Electrical Engineers.
Bespoke Design needed to meet Engineering Requirements:
There was a request from the client and engineer that every emergency fitting have a clearly visible marker light. This was to indicate the charge status of each battery backup unit as well as to make all emergency fittings clearly identifiable. We designed and manufactured these indicator lights so that they were stand-alone units. By making them stand alone units we were able to avoid adapting each light fitting to include an onboard indicator light. This removed the risk of damaging the fittings during a retrofit of the indicators completely. The final look and feel of the stand-alone units was better than we all had hoped for: clean, sleek and functional.

Our recent project involved the design and installation of cutting-edge LED lighting solutions. This initiative aimed to enhance visual appeal, improve energy efficiency, and create a vibrant shopping atmosphere in a high-end retail store.
Visual Appeal Enhancement:
Our meticulous approach prioritised superior light consistency, maximum flexibility, and substantial energy savings. The implementation of LED linear lights, downlights, remote-controlled LED strip lighting, and high bay lights on the basketball court enabled us to bring out vivid hues and dynamic patterns of the client’s products, captivating customers’ attention and driving sales.

Through rigorous assessment and comparison of lighting design options, we achieved nearly 900 lux, significantly elevating product visibility and creating an inviting ambiance. The use of our latest LED fittings ensured higher Lumens per Watt output, thereby reducing the overall consumption without compromising on the lighting quality.
